Help the Kingsley Folk School build a classroom yurt to host our classes year-round!

Our goal is to build a yurt on our farm site just outside of Kingsley where we can hold year-round classes and workshops for larger audiences.

Kingsley Folk School, founded in 2021, is a non-profit community space for sharing and learning skills from folk traditions for all ages. After starting out in a small building in downtown Kingsley, we quickly outgrew the space. Now it is time for us to grow, and we need your help.

X Marks the Spot

Where will the Kingsley Folk School’s new location be? Right here in Kingsley, of course! We are located six miles from downtown Kingsley off of Walton Rd. As you can see from the aerial photo, we will have plenty of room, with space for parking.

Some of our previous classes include:

early childhood music series

cheese making

glass blowing 101

herbs for pain and inflammation

stamp making

tree grafting

qigong

drop spindle spinning

fire by friction

and sauerkraut making

We plan to continue to expand our curriculum with our new space and offer more classes like these.

What is a yurt?

A yurt is a circular domed dwelling that is portable and self-supporting.

The Kingsley Folk School will be sourcing a yurt from the Michigan company Great Lakes Yurt Co.
